Description

Fraser Carver Recruitment is working exclusively with a rapidly expanding financial services company in the East Midlands who are looking to hire a Product Manager into a newly created role that will report into the Head of Proposition.

The Product Manager will also work with the development teams throughout the development lifecycle.

They must be able to articulate their vision to product owners, solution architects and developers so that all parties have a clear understanding of whatthey are building.

Throughout the development lifecycle the PM will be available to resolve any questions or issues that relate to the development of their products.

Finally, they will test solutions to ensure that these meet the vision.


Key responsibilities

  • Working with the exec board including the head of innovation to understand and document the product vision and roadmap fpr the businesses product development
  • Accountable to the users, working with all representative stakeholders (customer success, service, sales, marketing, compliance, proposition and innovation) as well as AR firms and consumers to understand what drives maximum value against our strategicgoals
  • Prioritising a product roadmap accordingly and sharing with Leadership, Tech, Stakeholders, and engaged user groups
  • Working with stakeholders, product owners, business analysts, architects, (Lead) developers, Leadership to build a view of the target product deliverable and understanding the incremental steps to get there
  • Deriving and documenting Project Mandate and Business cases (Incl. modelling costbenefit analysis) for Product features & functionality & helping to consolidate these into projects
  • Act as a stakeholder for product development projects, representing the business and users by proxy where required
  • Ensuring the voice of the customer and stakeholders are maintained throughout
  • Responsible for modelling and understanding the commercial elements of the implementation maintain a model for operational costs specific to any new product. Use the model to gain agreement among stakeholders to (a) spend the money and (b) agree who willcover the operational costs Responsible for monitoring of new product features and products to ensure expected outcomes and goals are attained. Prioritising steps required to mitigate any misses (reword)
  • Working closely with the Business Analysts, PO's, Architects, Developers, Delivery Manager, Release Managers and the CIO to ensure the businesses visions and requirements are met by the solutions being delivered
  • Participating in the user acceptance testing and signoff of new products
  • Working closely with Marketing to develop the product and actively market the product
  • Working with the Prop & Project teams to ensure projects being delivered map back to the product vision and strategy
  • Planning and managing rollout and adoption of features (training, materials etc)
  • Involve the team in the development of the product strategy; working to build out the roadmaps that meet the key requirements of the business
  • Empowering the team to work as consultants within the business to distil priorities and help achieve key results as quickly as possible
  • Coaching and managing the POs to empower continuous personal development as well as the enhancement of the keyways of working and processes
  • Working with them to understand the detailed roadmaps for the products
  • Delegating individual responsibility to interface with the stakeholders to deliver the right user stories to meet the objectives goals
  • Ensuring that the PO team own and steward the product vision

Skills required:


  • A proven Product Manager with excellent knowledge of Product tools, methodology, processes.
  • You will have earnt leadership in crossfunctional / crossbusiness teams by collaborating with users, clients and product team members.
  • You will have a trackrecord of converting complex and often vague user problems into digital products and features that delight users and deliver business aims.
  • You will have outstanding stakeholder management skills and be able to influence both technical and commercial stakeholders, whilst being open to opinions and ideas.
  • You will be intellectually curious and numerical, using data to explain how users navigate your product and test hypothesis, rather than acting on opinions.
  • You will be a selfstarter, with a bias towards action which motivates the team around you to deliver at pace.
