Job Purpose:


As a CIS Guidewire Application Support Specialist you will report into the CIS Application Lead and add value in much more than BAU support activities.

You will be in the centre of a transformation journey which is looking to reengineer the relationship with business customers, improve the value provided by vendors and become deeply integrated with other teams in Component Services and the wider IT Product and Platforms teams.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Communicate regularly with business analyst to interpret, clarify, and plan for the implementation of user stories.
  • Propose integration solutions and estimate integration effort required for user story requirements.
  • Develop integration solutions including Batch Processes, Message Queues and Event Messaging.
  • Develop integration solutions with 3rd party vendors.
  • Establish and execute traceable unit and integration tests (automated as to be agreed).
  • Execute the development and ensure successful completion of assigned user stories for each sprint.
  • Onsiteoffshore coordination for resolving production incidents.
  • Technical support for all Guidewire suite Application in production.
  • Engage with multiple technical teams to ensure appropriate resolution of incidents, recording of resolutions and identification of bugs and defects.
  • Deployment support.
  • Handle the activity, synch Metadata flows from ImageRight systems through messaging.
  • MQ messaging.

Skills and Experience Specification:


Essential:


  • ClaimCenter certified integration and developer. Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter and at least one full product implementation. GL, PL, CA and WC experience strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in Guidewire APIs, GX Model and Product Models.
  • Experience in GuideWire PolicyCenter/ClaimCenter and Java/J2ee programming and development.
  • Guidewire Configuration using Studio, GScripts/GOUS and Integration experience.
  • Good experience in J2EEDesign Patterns Factory Pattern, Singleton, Session Facade, Service Locator, DAO.
  • Knowledge of Guidewire integration concept: Batch Processing, Message Queues and Event Processing.
  • Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation, and deployment, including objectoriented programming concepts.

Desirable:

Demonstrable experience working in insurance, preferably specialty (non-retail) insurance and exposure to Lloyds of London markets.
