Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:

Environmental Compliance: Monitor and assess environmental impacts associated with rail construction activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and permits.

Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental footprint and promote resource efficiency across project sites.

Risk Assessment: Conduct environmental risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential hazards and impacts on project sites.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and local communities to address environmental concerns and foster positive relationships.

Training and Awareness: Deliver environmental awareness training to project teams and subcontractors, promoting a culture of environmental stewardship and responsibility.

Health and Safety Integration: Work closely with health and safety teams to integrate environmental considerations into overall safety protocols and procedures.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of environmental monitoring data, incidents, and compliance activities, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation in environmental management practices, striving for excellence in sustainability performance.

Qualification Pursuit: Take advantage of opportunities for professional development, including gaining qualifications in health and safety to enhance expertise and career progression.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in environmental management or advisory roles, preferably within the rail or construction industry.
- Sound knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct environmental assessments and risk evaluations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Selfmotivated and proactive, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Willingness to spend approximately 60% of time on site, often in outdoor and physically demanding environments.
- Relevant qualifications or willingness to pursue qualifications in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) would be advantageous.
