Springboig Care Centre - Senior Care Assistant

Location - Glasgow

Rate - £11.50
Springboig Care Centre has been professionally and thoughtfully designed to provide living accommodation for the elderly.


Our residents are predominantly frail Elderly, with Dementia and Adults with life limiting conditions, mental health conditions or physical/learning disabilities.

We support our clients by following each agreed person-centred care plan, assisting them with washing, dressing, toileting, oral hygiene, continence care, medication support, domestic support and much more


The Role


As a senior carer you will ensure the individual needs of service users are met, providing opportunities for individuals to use their skills and enhance their quality of life, whilst maintaining their independence and privacy.

Your role will be to create and promote a warm and friendly atmosphere within the home.

You'll have at least an SVQ3 in Health & Social Care. You'll also have leadership in a care home, as well as knowledge of national standards and person-centred care planning.

Beyond that, it's all about your brilliant, positive energy and natural ability to get along with people. So, whenever you communicate with a resident or colleague, you'll be truly considerate and kind.


Key Responsibilities

  • You will work within the SSSC code of conduct and scope of practice, as well as organisational policies and procedures to deliver and lead highquality care as part of the care team using a personcentered approach
  • Provide care to include assessing, planning, implementing and continually reviewing care needs to provide a high standard of direct care to our service users, based on assessment and consultation with individuals, their relatives and the care team
  • Dispense medication for service users in line with SSSC and the company policy & procedures
  • Ensure service user medical information regarding conditions is discussed at handover
  • Update service user medical information kept within care plans
  • Build and maintain good relationships with service users and their relatives
  • Promote service user health and wellbeing
  • Ensure each service user has an active, varied and interesting life that respects individual choice and capability, whilst observing and promoting service user choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights
  • Report accidents and record in the accident book
  • Report and record maintenance issues in the maintenance logbook
  • Ensure that service users property is safeguarded and that records are updated as necessary

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Part-time hours: 22-45 per week


Salary:
£11.50 per hour


Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
Following government COVID policy ie. testing, PPE, social distancing etc


Experience:

- providing care: 3 years (preferred)

- supervisory: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required)
