Key Responsibilities:
Tree Assessment and Inventory:
- Conduct tree inspections to assess their health, condition, and structural integrity.
- Identify and document tree species, size, age, and potential risks or issues.
- Prepare comprehensive tree inventories, including mapping and data collection.
Tree Risk Assessment:
- Evaluate trees for potential hazards, such as disease, structural defects, unstable root systems.
- Assess the proximity of trees to buildings, infrastructure, and public spaces, and identify potential risks.
- Provide recommendations for tree management, including pruning, removal, or mitigation measures to minimise risks.
Arboricultural Management Plans:
- Develop customised management plans for clients, outlining strategies to preserve, maintain, and enhance tree health.
- Provide recommendations on tree planting, species selection, and appropriate maintenance practices.
- Advise on soil management, irrigation, and other factors that affect tree growth and vitality.
Tree Preservation in Development Projects (BS5837):
- Evaluate the impact of development activities on existing trees and advise on methods to minimise damage.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and landscape architects to integrate trees into site design and planning.
- Prepare reports, plans etc to support tree preservation during the construction phase.
Consultation and Client Communication:
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and other professionals to understand their objectives and address their treerelated concerns.
- Offer professional advice and recommendations on tree care, management, and preservation.
- Communicate findings, reports, and management plans clearly and effectively to clients and other relevant parties.
Professional Development and Education:
- Stay updated on the latest research, industry standards, and best practices in arboriculture.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree in arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, or a related field.
- Level 4 Arboricultural Technician Certificate
- Professional Tree Inspectors certificate
- Professional certifications, such as ISA Certified Arborist or Tree Risk Assessment
- Qualification (TRAQ).
- Climbing ability and certificates preferred.
- Knowledge of Tomography, resistance drilling, dynamic pull testing an advantage
- Strong knowledge of tree species, pests and diseases, tree morphology.
- Proficient in tree assessment and risk evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with all relevant regulations, codes, and guidelines related to trees and forests.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Office, word and excel proficient
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using arboricultural software, GIS, CAD and other relevant tools.
- Driving licence
Salary:
£28,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
