Job Purpose:


Purpose:
To effectively and efficiently manage all freight forwarding of specified accounts whilst providing excellent service to customers and colleagues.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively deliver customer supply chain solutions, including;
  • Ensuring customer requirements are managed efficiently ;
  • Seamless delivery of services to customers from across the Armitt Group;
  • Monitor the customer consignment from receipt of shipping documents to forwarding to the necessary people such as ships agent or ports.
  • Account management
  • Liaise with container lines
  • Liaise with external, worldwide freight forwarders to obtain the best logístical solution for our customers
  • Investigate and plan the most appropriate route for a shipment
  • Take into account the nature of the goods to be shipped, cost, transit time and security
  • Negotiate contracts, transportation and handling costs
  • Obtaining, checking and preparing documents to meet customs requirements and compliance with other countries regulations and fiscal regimes
  • Ensure boxes moved from the quay to avoid demurrage occurring (quay charges, demurrage for not returning container on time)
  • Track daily ETA of incoming vehicles
  • Monitor throughout the day for any changes occurring
  • Liaise with the port to update them with container ETA
  • Garston and haulage
  • Check Tally matches with shipping documents and resolve any issues
  • Identify opportunities for growth.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
  • Deliver continuous improvement of services.
  • Manage day to day activities including customer service and quality standards.
  • Use the Armitt Group's resources efficiently.
  • Ensure quality standards, financial targets and environmental objectives are met.
  • Plan, deliver and record all work undertaken using Group systems as directed.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships.
  • Motivate, encourage teamwork to ensure quality standards and productivity targets are met.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Work flexibly.
  • Ensure compliance with the Armitt Group's health & safety requirements and all relevant current health & safety legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with the Armitt Group's policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by management.
