About the role


This role is shift work based, so it would include working days/night shifts including weekends and bank holidays, on occasion you might need to travel for training or asked to support other sites with maintenance tasks or with site cover, which would involve travelling.

Travel and Accommodation costs would be covered.


As an Engineering Technician, you will be carrying out planned maintenance across the site in an accurate, timely and safe manner ensuring maintenance procedures are followed.

Some tasks involve working at height, so you must be comfortable with working at heights.

You will be responsible for updating records of work activities/tasks carried out, parts used through stores and training given.

Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers and internal departments in finding ways to improve process and increase machine reliability and performance.

Respond to and diagnose equipment breakdowns, resolving issues and carrying out repairs and perform daily housekeeping and cleaning duties of all equipment.


You will be responding to and resolving any issues on the automation across the GMDC, using computerised systems to maintain incident and maintenance logs.

Being constantly mindful of health and safety, reporting any issues to management as appropriate, upholding our exceptional hygiene standards, which could involve anything from general housekeeping to deep cleaning our automation equipment.

About you


If you are currently working in an engineering role ideally in a fast paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.


You will ideally have some technical ability and understanding, especially relating to automation hardware and software - this would be preferred, but training can be given.

A formal engineering related qualification would be advantageous. Competent mechanical or electrical knowledge and demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem solving ability. Good organisation skills, able to prioritise. Knowledge of control systems would also be preferred.

This role has certain elements of working at height using a variety of access equipment, so technicians need to be comfortable working at heights.

Please note this role is shift based to support the 24/7 operation.
