About us


Pickstock Foods Ltd is a family run lamb and sheep abattoir and cutting plant located outside of the village of Hartshorne near the town of Swadlincote in Derbyshire.

We source lambs and sheep from around Great Britain as well as our own farms to supply to the domestic and export markets.


The factory is a five minute drive from junction 13 of the A42 and is located in a beautiful rural setting within the National Forest.

The factory and it's site was renovated and modernised in following relocation of the previous occupants in 2014.

We offer modern and bright offices and a friendly and supportive team to work within.


Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team.

Reporting to the HR and Payroll Manager, as the Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, maintaining payroll records, and assisting with various payroll-related tasks.


Responsibilities:


  • Process payroll for employees accurately and on time
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity
  • Calculate and process adjustments, deductions, and withholdings
  • Resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
  • Stay uptodate with payroll legislation and regulations
  • Preparation of payroll reports for management and Accountants
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data in the HR system
  • Perform data entry tasks related to employee information updates or changes
  • Undertake yearend payroll processes
  • Preparation of absence and holiday reports

Experience:


  • Proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of SAGE Payroll
  • Familiarity usng COMPUTIME software an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Strong analytical skills to analyse payroll data and identify discrepancies
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with employees regarding payroll queries

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent


Salary:
£12.75-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
