Salary:
National ranging from £27,000 to £32,000 and London from £30,000 to £35,000

The team/department


Our Payroll team of three deal with the monthly payroll and benefit provision for FCA taking care of around 4,500 colleagues.


We work closely with our outsourced providers, CGI for Payroll and AON for flexible benefits, alongside close internal relationships with HR Helpline, HR advisory team and the Employee Relations team.


You will be a key member of the Payroll team, who pride themselves on offering high quality support and advice to all our colleagues.

What you will be doing (the role)- End-to-end processing of starters, leavers, maternity, sickness and variable payroll data. Processing the monthly payroll interface reports and verifying that the output is correct prior to sending to the outsourced payroll provider- Provision of bi-monthly datafiles to our benefit administrator and ensuring that core and flexible benefits are processed correctly- Working in partnership with the HR Helpline, Business Partners and other stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are met and transactions processed correctly- Resolving routine employee payroll & benefit queries- Documenting and maintaining new payroll procedures and guidance for the team- Liaising with the Finance team and monthly reconciliation of the payroll accounts

We support hybrid working which means you will be able to work from home up to 60% of the time over a month with the remainder of your time in one of our three office locations.

The skills and experience you will have

Minimum- Experience in a high-volume Payroll environment through which you will have acquired an in-depth knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing (i.e., manual calculations, PAYE, National Insurance, Statutory Maternity Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay, Pensions, tax year-end, Real-Time Information etc.)


Essential- Commitment to delivering first class customer service- A flexible and collaborative team player- Experience of working under pressure to strict deadlines.

Capable of managing a range of competing tasks and issues, prioritising / escalating as appropriate- Attention to detail, good numerical skills, and the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner- Experience of flexible benefits and salary sacrifice (childcare vouchers, cycle scheme, holiday purchase, Group Income protection)- Actively manages personal and professional development and displays initiative and confidence to proactively look for solutions- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with beginner to intermediate level in Excel and Word- Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
