An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced data, quality, and facilities co-ordinator to join our friendly and enthusiastic team, supporting the Haematology & Transfusion section of the Pathology department of Mersey & West Lancashire NHS Teaching Hospitals Trust.

A keen eye to detail is an important aspect of the role.

You will have excellent communication skills which will enable you to liaise with various teams both inside and outside of Pathology.


The post is based at Whiston Hospital although the Laboratory provides services at Southport, Ormskirk, and St Helens Hospitals; occasional travel to any site may be required.

KEY DUTIES
IT

To provide administrative support to the Haematology & Blood Transfusion Department required to support IT functions.

Be efficient in the use of Pathology, Trust and NHS systems such as Dedalus Telepath, Clinisys ICE etc.


Responsible for data quality aspects of Telepath:
Level One administrator for Telepath

To extract data from Telepath by creating formulas

To manipulate the statistical information derived from Telepath into report format for presentation.


Produce data and create reports required for invoicing purposes, general workload activity, quality and performance reports, KPI reports, FOI requests, Clinical Benchmarking etc.

To assist with end-to-end testing of new systems

To create test codes/grouped test codes.

Checking and merging patient records.

To be responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the Haematology & Blood Transfusion Trust Intranet webpages.

Electronic Staff Record

  • Responsible for the entry of mandatory training, appraisal information, absence, and annual leave data, ensuring that entries are complete.

QUALITY
To provide administrative support to the Haematology & Blood Transfusion Department required to support Quality functions.

Conduct QMS audit. This may include scheduled and ad hoc audits as required to check compliance to ISO 15189.

Pull monthly reports to monitor Document status and Audit status.

Upload audit findings and Non-conformance reports to EQMS

Support Monitoring of closure of incidents

Support EQMS administration including document type tidy up.

Collate quality data as required.

TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for providing training in all aspects of the role as necessary to less experienced members of staff.

To attend Trust Statutory and Mandatory training sessions as required and any other training courses relevant to the post.


The post holder will undertake suitable training and development to maintain the competencies required for their post and will demonstrate competency in order to work autonomously and maintain expertise necessary to the post.
