A small local accountancy firm on the western outskirts of Newcastle that fosters a wonderful working environment for their staff are looking to bring in an Accounts Senior or Manager to support their existing staff with increasing demand from their clients.

With a strong focus on staff welfare and genuinely ensuring they create a fun and safe place to work, the Partners are keen to ensure work levels are maintained and as a result are looking to employ an Accounts Senior or Manager to support with the following:

  • Looking after a small portfolio of clients
  • mixed SME / OMB across the north-east
  • Regular liaison with clients to gather financial information and support with any queries they may have regarding their business affairs
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts for partner review, amends and submission to HMRC and client feedback meetings
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations
  • Review of bookkeeping and quarterly VAT returns completed by other members in the team.
  • Advisory support to the Partners that might involve elements of research and client liaison.
  • Coaching and training more junior members of the finance as and when required
This role can be tailored to an individuals level of experience and aspirations.

There is scope for progression to undertake more senior responsibilities, but if you simply prefer hands on accounts preparation this also works well.


The role is predominantly office based as this is how they have created such a great team, however it is an adult environment and flexibility and a sensible approach to an individuals circumstances are considered.

We are looking for an experienced Accountant who has been working in an accounting firm with UK based experience.

Applicants do not necessarily need to be professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA) but must have a minimum of AAT Level 4 or equivalent.

Familiarisationwith cloud accounting systems such as Sage, Quickbooks, Xero is also required.
