TriRx are seeking an additional team member to join our fantastic H&S team.

The Occupational Hygienist role will play a pivotal role in providing specialist advice and leadership to management and our wider people teams.


What you will do as an Occupational Hygienist at TriRx

  • To provide expert Occupational Hygiene advice, leadership and technical expertise in the form of written policies, guidelines and procedures, verbal communications and practical involvement both internally, within the corporation and externally.
  • To participate in the development, progression and implementation of the site safety management system, and to attend Team H&S meetings in order to promote the good occupational hygiene practices and obtain feedback to ensure consistency in standards and approach.
  • Ensure adequate provision of Occupational Hygiene training for TriRx employees and contractors, and specific training and development of EHS operations representatives, through external training providers and/or development and delivery of 'inhouse' training packages.
  • Facilitate and sustain risk assessments (COSHH) and other programmes to meet regulatory and corporate requirements. Be focal point of contact for Regulatory and corporate agencies with respect to Occupational Hygiene issues.
  • Participate in projects at the Speke site, and input into developing projects. Where appropriate, review process and equipment change controls to ensure no negative impact on Occupational Hygiene requirements.
  • Develop and maintain an annual occupational hygiene programme and report progress to site leadership team.
  • Prepare and publish written reports for circulation to management and ensure actions are suitably monitored and progressed.
  • Support the site face fit testing programme and carry out face fit testing as necessary.
  • Ensure occupational hygiene equipment is calibrated and serviced at timely intervals.
  • Participate in, train and give guidance on team inspections and audits, giving guidance to Corporate audit team. Participate in TriRx audits and development of the site audit programme with regard to Occupational Hygiene.
  • Ensure continued professional development (CPD) is maintained by updating knowledge by attendance at seminars, courses and conferences, and reading of relevant H&S/occupational hygiene journals and publications. Share best practices across teams on site. Maintain current level of qualification.
  • Provide general health and safety advice on other occupational health and safety issues.
  • Review and oversee accident/incident reports and investigations and work with occupational health as necessary to ensure correct remedial action is implemented and reporting to HSE to meet legislative requirements. Maintain this information in the form of statistics and ensure progression of any enforcement notices.

Essential Criteria for the role of Occupational Hygienist

  • Certificate of competence in Occupational Hygiene
  • NEBOSH or equivalent degree in relevant field
  • P405 Asbestos qualified
