The Copthorne Hotel Aberdeen is seeking an experienced Kitchen Assistantwho will maintain a section of the kitchen and assist with some preparing and cooking duties to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.


As a Kitchen Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out all cleaning duties as per the cleaning schedule
  • Carry out any reasonable task set by a senior member of the team
  • Prepare, cook and present food as per kitchen manual
  • Some breakfast duties will be required as instructed by Head Chef
  • Ensure hygienic practices are used
  • Maintaining standards laid down by the Head Chef
  • Ensure the correct use of different cleaning chemicals and materials as per manuals
  • Clean and tidy the staff restaurant
  • Ensure the work areas are clean, safe and tidy at all times
  • Adhere to all regulations in respect of Health & Safety, Hygiene, Guest Safety, Fire Regulations, Emergency Procedures etc.

What we are looking for:


  • Previous experience in the Hotel industry is advantageous
  • Some culinary skills
  • Ability to work various shifts on a rota bases including weekends
  • Enthusiastic and motivated, with a good eye for detail and accuracy
  • The role also relies on developing a relationship with other departments in the hotel, hence it is crucial you are able to communicate effectively to ensure control measures are understood and adhered to
