**Teaching AssistantMilk Education are currently working with a Primary School in Standish who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 child on a one-to-one basis who has Autism (ASD).
This role is to start as soon as possible and is covering an on-going sickness cover. This Teaching Assistant role is working Monday to Friday each week between 08:30am- 15:30pm.
The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is confident to work on a one-to-one basis and who is supportive of the child's needs.
The school are looking for applicants who have previous experience working with children in a school or child care setting.
Previous employment or volunteering experience as a Teaching Assistant can be within the past 5 years and can include Nurseries, YouthCenters or working as a Support Worker with SEND Adults or Children.
The ideal person will be inclusive, passionate, engaging, empathetic and supportive whilst using their initiative on a daily basis. Good communication skills are a must whilst working alongside other support staff and supporting the class teacher.Key Responsibilities:
- Working one to one with a KS2 child with Autism
- Supporting the class teacher on a daily basis with what tasks they require you to undertake
- Build a positive and supportive relationship with all children, colleagues and parents
- Use your initiative and uphold strong behaviour management
- Supporting groups of children and working on a onetoone basis
- Adapting your support style to suit all individual needs
In order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria:
- Strong English and Maths Skills
- Previous experience of volunteering or working with Children in the past 5 years
- Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
- Two suitable references covering the last 2 years
