Accounts Technician Witney Maternity Cover (12 months) ? Hybrid working available after training period

  • 12-15 month contract
  • 8:30 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday
  • 8:30 to 16:00 Friday
  • 37.5 hours a week


The Burford Recruitment Company are delighted to be working with an international manufacturing company to find a motivated and confident Accounts Technician to join their head office team based in Witney, Oxfordshire.

This is a full time position for afixed term covering maternity leave. As Accounts Technician you will report directly to the Financial Controller.


The main purpose of the role is to help prepare, complete, and maintain accurate financial records and assisting the Financial Controller in their day-to-day duties.


Other duties include:


  • Complete Asset Handling: Registers/Disposals/Depreciation/Inventory/Assets under construction
  • Assisting with the management of credit and debit functions, including complex invoice processing
  • Accruals and Prepayments


  • Invoice payments

  • Leasing/Utilities/Petty Cash/Overheads
  • Credit card postings for GL coding and VAT coding errors
  • Assisting in developing and maintaining procedures and practices
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly and year end processes, such as statistics and budgets
  • Producing of timely and accurate reports
  • Supporting to the Financial Controller, Assistant Financial Controller and AP team when required
  • Creating and maintaining advanced spreadsheets
  • Producing monthly accounts
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • VAT procedures and returns
  • Knowledge of SAP (FI Module in particular)
  • Assets Management
  • Forecasting and analytical skills
  • Excel to at least intermediate standard
