We are currently supporting a Defence and Engineering industry leader as they seeking Simulation and Modelling specialists to join their Synthetic Environments and Simulation team.

This position will be based in Farnborough, north-east Hampshire, with remote-working flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engagement with customers and industry partners to understand project requirements, develop effective relationships and deliver acceptable outcomes.
  • Modelling and configuring simulation components using a variety of tools e.g. 3D models, terrains, Computer Generated Forces scenarios/vignettes.
  • Conducting practical and theoretical research, considering the use of emerging technologies and training theories to provide evidence and ideas for training systems.
  • Specification and development of simulation systems using a blend of offtheshelf capabilities, including "serious games" and bespoke software.
  • Integration of innovative solutions using a range of technologies and concepts, such as Virtual or Augmented Reality and Live, Virtual & Constructive (LVC) blends.

Experience Required:

  • Broad understanding of modelling and simulation concepts and technologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of threat representation or environment modelling and associated tools/ technologies such as Image Generation and visualisation of tactical or geospatial information.
  • Experience with games engines such as VBS or Unity may be beneficial.
  • Awareness of future technology trends, able to explore new concepts through technologybased research, and able to create appropriate solutions using novel and emerging technologies that meet future capability requirements.
  • Broad understanding of computer architectures and network design, including virtualisation, IP communication and routing and security protocols.
  • A first degree in Science or Engineering, or an equivalent nationally recognised, professional qualification
  • Demonstrable success shaping and delivering solutions that require technical leadership and risk management across a range of engineering and technical disciplines
