I am currently working for a major building contractor/ masonry specialist who are seeking a Stone Mason,.

Duties

  • Construct and repair stone structures such as walls, floors, and monuments
  • Lay out patterns or foundations using measuring and marking tools
  • Cut and shape stones using hand tools and power tools
  • Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto surfaces using trowels
  • Align stones and finish joints using masonry techniques
  • Install stone veneer on building exteriors or interiors
  • Repair or replace damaged stones in existing structures

  • Proven experience as a Stonemason or similar role
  • Proficient in working with various types of stone materials
  • Knowledge of masonry techniques and tools
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow construction plans
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods of time
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Skills:


  • Roofing experience: Knowledge of roofing techniques and materials is beneficial for stonemasons who may be involved in constructing or repairing stone roofs.
  • Hand tools: Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, levels, and trowels is essential for stonemasons.
  • Power tools: Familiarity with power tools such as saws, grinders, and drills is necessary for cutting, shaping, and finishing stone.
  • Masonry: Understanding masonry techniques, including laying bricks or blocks, mixing mortar, and finishing joints, is crucial for stonemasons.

£20.00-£22.00 per hour

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
