Material Controller

An established manufacturing firm, based in Clevedon, is seeking a motivated Material Controller to join its team.

This presents a great opportunity to be part of a company renowned for its efficient production processes and commitment to meeting customer demands.


Responsibilities:

This position presents a varied set of duties to align with the evolving day-to-day needs of the business.

As a Material Controller, your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Utilising an MRP system to plan, order, and expedite raw materials and production consumables effectively
  • Monitoring and adjusting material requirements in accordance with customer demand
  • Ensuring efficient material stock control in line with lean principles
  • Coordinating with the site Production Management team to meet delivery requirements
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and updating plans regularly and communicating changes effectively
  • Controlling obsolescence via order and stock control
  • Managing projects to enable cost benefits to the business
  • Essential experience of material movement working with ERP/MRP systems
  • Effective planning and resource management skills
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Excellent team working, organisation, and time management skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to gather information and analyse problems using own initiative
  • 2 years of experience in MRP, Manufacturing, and Planning
