JOB VACANCY - VENUES FACILITIES CARETAKER, THETFORD TOWN COUNCIL


The role provides a great opportunity to join and compliment the Thetford Town Council Venues & Events team which includes delivery of the events and hires within the Carnegie & Guildhall and the delivery of the Thetford Town Council town events programme.

It will also include the supervision of the weekly markets and assist the team in the delivery of a programme of Market Place events throughout the year.

A desired skill would be some experience of general maintenance and 'handyman' skills to add value to the team.


The post is 37 hours per week and will require a flexible approach to weekly working schedules as weekend will be required.

JOB DESCRIPTION
To assist and facilitate the requirements of the venue hires and performers/artists for Carnegie & Guildhall.


To maintain the safety of all hirers, event participants and attendees, this will include fire marshal duties in the event of an emergency.

To carry out general cleaning tasks in the Carnegie & Guildhall.

To support event delivery staff with set up and pack down as well as bar service as required.


To provide supervision for the two weekly Markets and from time to time specialist markets, ensuring they are safe during set up, set down and operational period.


To ensure that all market traders have all relevant documentation to trade and comply to the TTC to the traders/users' terms and conditions.

To carry out general facility checks and any minor repairs and maintenance in respect of Venues & equipment.

To assist and work across the Town Council departments with Town Council services, events, and activities.

Attend training courses and staff meetings as directed by the Venues Manager.

Be prepared to undertake tasks on behalf of the Town Council outside the normal remit of the role.


HOURS:37 Hours per week (The role will require weekend work)

£20,258.00 per year
