£8,000 - £10,000 a year

Working week
Opening Hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 18:30pm.

Shifts will be varied - to be confirmed. May be early starts at 8am and some late finishes at 6.30pm.

Total hours per week: 30 hours a week.

What will the apprentice be doing?
General Practice Assistant required for small friendly doctors surgery.

This is a fast paced post where you will be expected to support the Practice Manager and doctors by handling routine administration and some basic clinical admin tasks.

You will deal with telephone appointments, patient queries, scanning, data analysing, creating audits, updating practice policies, data entering and other associated admin work.

Using a clinical computerbased appointment system to check in patients and book appointments
Producing electronic and manual prescriptions
Dealing with patient queries
Scanning into medical records
Working early some days from 8am and finishing on some days at 6.30pm as required.
Typing referral letters
Data inputting / Data Entry
Analysing data
Creating audits using Excel
Dealing with mail
Electronically filing of documents
Other associated admin duties as required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful apprentice will be enrolled on the Business Administrator Apprenticeship Level 3 with GP Assistant overlay with PMA Ltd.

In house training in all aspects of reception work/admin work.

Online Mandatory training via training portal.

Some training may be offered via the Training Hub at the discretion of the Practice Manager and business needs.
