Head of Business Intelligence and Performance


Salary:
£43,1

Full Time Permanent 37 hours per week 52 weeks per year


The post holder will work across college to drive the continued development of critical learning systems, development of business intelligence tools with leadership of the Reporting, Software & Systems team and the Examinations Department to ensure that performance data is accurate, timely, well reported and utilised effectively within the college.

Key Responsbilities:


  • You will provide support to senior managers in interpreting performance data and responding appropriately to ensure the continued success of the college and its learners.
  • You will also oversee the continued development of student learning systems and related products, driving innovation in their development to support teaching, learning and the student experience.
  • Reporting to the Director of MIS and Data, you will provide effective line management of business intelligence and performance related teams. The post holder will ensure that college systems provide appropriate tools and solutions to target and improve student performance and that robust reporting is provided through Power BI and other reporting systems as appropriate
  • You will ensure the provision of an effective examinations service, supporting students and ensuring compliance with external organisations
  • Provide leadership and management to the BI and Exams functions to ensure that those functions are integrated seamlessly within all college provision types.
  • Oversee the collation and publication of highquality datasets which can be used to monitor and manage performance of each business unit across the Group.
  • Lead on ensuring that the college's systems and services continue to make best use of technology to deliver the required outcomes for our learners.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, income and cash forecasting and success rate tracking as part of a wider scope of management information needs

  • Further development the use of student performance systems across the college, including ProMonitor, PowerBI, electronic portfolio, E-ILP systems, Strata, Monday.
Com, CenturyTech and other future technologies/systems.

  • Lead on the review and handling of external data including QAR tables, NARTS, DfE Performance tables and destination data. Present analysis and interpretation to senior colleagues, evaluating key risks to the college.
  • Ensure that all data is held securely, and shared appropriately (both internally and externally) within GDPR and legal requirements. Working with the Executive Direct for the reviewing and updating of data assets registers, business continuity and departmental policies accordingly.
