The Role:


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team in a new role, responsible for the end-to-end ISDA onboarding process.

This includes the use of portal technology, used widely for ISDAs.


This role will be one of two roles within the ISDA onboarding team and will be focussed on new ISDA requests, including fund launches, and expanding ISDA coverage for existing funds and driving them to completion through active engagement with internal stakeholders and bank onboarding teams.

This new function will strive for improved speed to completion of new ISDA requests and improved breadth of ISDA coverage across all funds and clients.


The Senior Onboarding Specialist will interact regularly with internal and bank stakeholders to effectively manage the ISDA pipeline and efficiently drive open requests to completion.

These stakeholders include investment teams, fund launch team, bank ISDA onboarding teams, legal, risk and dealing teams.


Responsibilities for this role:

  • Manage the pipeline of open ISDA requests originating from fund/client launches and existing funds.
  • Source, compile and obtain approval of the fund data and documentation required by banks to onboard the relevant existing funds for ISDAs.
  • Initiate onboarding requests with banks that are accurate and complete.
  • Manage all bank queries regarding KYC, credit review and ISDA documentation, engaging relevant internal stakeholders where required.
  • Drafting of ISDA documentation (eg. accession style ISDA agreements) using templates.
  • Coordinating drafting and negotiation of ISDA documentation with the legal team.
  • Coordinating review and implementation of ISDA protocol adherence requirements with compliance teams where required.
  • Initiate ISDA related onboarding activities carried out by other teams within Middle Office Onboarding (eg. collateral onboarding).
  • Hold regular meetings with each bank to discuss and drive open requests and understand dependencies and issues affecting completion.
  • Provide regular updates on fund launch ISDA cases against launch deadline and escalate any delays.
  • Maintain an accurate database of ISDA/CSA documentation and critical terms within documentation including using the document repository.
  • Maintain an accurate and current report of active ISDA relationships to be used by Dealing and Investment Teams.
  • Be the point of contact for status updates on open requests, ISDA documentation queries/searches, ongoing KYC from banks.
  • Be a primary user of the portal technology used to upload fund data and documentation, initiate and track open ISDA cases with banks.
  • Onboarding of new banks into the endtoend ISDA process including onto the portal technology solution.
  • Be the operational process owner for ISDA onboarding, identify improvements and resolve inefficiencies within the ISDA onboarding process.
  • Involvement in change projects involving ISDA or requiring ISDA related information.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Significant previous experience within an ISDA and derivatives onboarding role within the asset management industry is essential.
  • Evidence of ownership and accountability for completion of onboarding requests within previous roles.
  • Experience involving ISDA/CSA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association) documentation, specifically ISDA agreement/ISDA accession letter drafting.
  • Knowledge of KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures.
  • Evidence of strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Confident liaising across banks, front office and legal teams
