About the role

It's an exciting time to join Test Valley Borough Council's Planning Policy service Our team are delivering ambitious masterplans for the future of both Andover and Romsey Town Centres.

We are currently preparing a new Local Plan looking ahead to 2040 and coordinating infrastructure delivery to meet our proposals.

We have two career graded opportunities to join our Planning Policy Team.

We will appoint at any grade and thus are seeking officers at any of these levels:

The Senior/Planning Policy Officer (see seperate advert for further information) role within our Strategy team will play a key part in helping to shape the future of the borough through the new Local Plan.

Membership or eligibility for membership of the RTPI is desirable but not essential.

The Planning Policy Officer role within our Delivery team playing a key role in helping to plan and deliver infrastructure in the borough. There is the opportunity to work towards a postgraduate qualification as part of this role which will be funded by us.

With the support of the wider team, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the borough and enable our communities to fulfil their potential.

To thrive in either of these roles, you'll need to have an organised approach, be self-motivated and analytical. We also need someone with strong communication skills, as both positions involve direct engagement with residents and stakeholders.
