THE COMPANY


Mims and Errington Reay are amongst the UK's leading brands of outdoor pots and garden products to the garden centres and major retailers for over 36 years.


The company has achieved considerable growth in recent times and recruiting for an Administrator to support the Buyer on a wide range of product development and sourcing activities.


THE ROLE


You will be working with the Buyer, supporting on a wide range of tasks from product range building, sourcing, developing, supplier communication, sample management, buying and stock control of a big range of lifestyle products.

Your role is to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed to key deadlines and supporting the Buyer with the smooth running of the department.


TRAINING


Training will be provided on company's systems and processes together with any other training specific to our business and the role.

The position is a starting point to join and learn a unique business with the opportunity to grow and take on additional responsibilities, learning the core skills of a Buyer within a small team.


MAIN DUTIES

  • General administration managing all communications with suppliers, shipping companies and sales department
  • Managing the critical path of purchase orders, shipments and samples
  • Data entry of new products and updating information in stock database
  • Providing updates to the team regarding inbound shipments and stock levels
  • Assisting with pricing and costings
  • Handling any purchase queries and resolving quality issues with suppliers
  • Preparing purchase orders for authorisation and sign off
  • Assisting with marketing literature and sales promotions
  • Any other duties to meet the operational needs of the business and holiday cover

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 year's proven and recent experience in senior administrative position, preferably from a buying/shipping background and having commercial awareness
  • Strong numeracy and excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel (using Pivot tables, formatting and formulae)
  • Articulate in verbal and written communication at management level
  • Ability to take ownership of role and duties
  • Attention to detail with a "doing it right first time" attitude
  • Great analytical ability and critical thinking skills
  • Superb problem solving and decision making skills
  • A fast learner and flexible to navigate changes

REMUNERATION

  • Salary between £25,000 to £27,000 per annum depending on experience and personal skills
  • 20 days holidays rising to 25 days with service, plus public holidays and day off on your birthday

This position is a full time, Monday to Friday, permanent position with a 6-month probation period.
