Main Purpose of Role
- Assist in the effective employment and deployment of motivated and competent people who are consistently able to deliver high quality & valued inspection services to meet and exceed customers expectations within the business.
- Assist in supervising the delivery of services with due regard to cost implications, the achievement of revenue and LC budgets and the need to achieve sustainable levels of profitability within the inspection business.
Key Accountabilities
- Daytoday responsibility for assisting in the delivery of inspection services by ensuring efficient and appropriate use of resources/facilities to meet SGS's contractual obligations and specific customer expectations. This may, where appropriate, include carrying out operational duties personally to ensure quality and financial targets are achieved.
- Maintain relations with clients to enhance trust, understanding and an awareness of local market trends/developments.
- Assist in Coaching, counselling and developing direct reports, ensuring each individual has a set of objectives and is given an annual performance appraisal to ensure effective communication of individual, team & business objectives and address any areas for improvement immediately and in a constructive manner.
- Help to ensure that all employees have the appropriate level of skills, knowledge and experience in order to provide a high quality service to customers and to instigate training activities where required.
- Promote a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas of the inspection operation and adherence with SGS's quality systems. As directed by the Branch Manager, follow up audits and CAPRs/NIRs by completing actions on time and updating relevant procedures where appropriate and communicating any changes to the team.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification/membership of industry body e.g. IFIA, Deck Officer.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- GCSE Maths & English (grades A to C) or equivalent.
Experience
- Experience in the service sector related to the petrochemical industry.
- Experience of directly communicating with clients and successfully resolving clients issues/complaints.
- Previous experience of operating in a coordination or supervisory role within a successful team.
