Are you able to act as a role model and a mentor to pupil?

A secondary referral unit in Tameside, is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team


This school caters for children and young people who have struggled in mainstream environments and offer a fresh start in smaller class sizes for those aged 7-18 across both sites.

You will support children with SEMH needs who have struggled to access education.

In this role as a Learning support mentor, you will:

  • Support in the delivery of creative and engaging lessons
  • Act as a good role model for students and encourage expected behaviour
  • Promote independence of pupils and encourage them to reach their full potential

The ideal Learning support mentor will have:

  • The ability to form good relationships with students
  • Adaptability and flexibility within their role
  • Lots of patience and good deescalation techniques
  • Experience of working with special educational needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
