We have an opportunity for a Procurement Officer to work within Caerphilly Council's Procurement and Information Services Team.

You will become part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team that sets the Procurement direction for a leading Council with circa 600 services.

This varied and vitally important role will assist with the development and implementation of corporate and service area specific procurement strategies and initiatives to deliver an effective and efficient services across the Council and for our citizens.

For this role we ask that you are able to:

Demonstrate a level of experience of a range of procurement and supply chain procedures and processes including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, and negotiation
Understand relevant procurement legislation and the ability to provide advice and guidance in relation to procurement
Communicate effectively with people at different levels inside and outside of the

Council Person Specification:

Qualifications:
5 GCSEs Grade A
C or qualifications set at a similar level on the Credit and Qualifications Framework. Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or actively studying towards the institute's examinations.

Knowledge:
Good working knowledge of the UK Public Contract Regulations. IT literate with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software packages.
