The salary for this role is £39,556 Plus Van, Bonus, Pension.


What will I be doing?


Reporting to the Senior Contract Supervisor you will be responsible for day to day operations of the Municipal Contract, working closely with the other members of the management team.

This new contract is responsible for Street Cleansing, Recycling and Refuse services across the City of Milton Keynes.


You will:

  • Monitor refuse and recycling collection and Street Cleansing Teams and carrying out inspections accordingly.
  • Monitor and manage health and safety standards of the contract and ensure fleet compliance is always kept to a high standard.
  • Along with other Teams Members you will manage a small part of up to 280 operational staff. Their wellbeing and address any employment issues.
  • You will also be tasked with various day to day roles which will include timesheets, ensuring staff levels are kept in line with budget, ensuring all staff are briefed on the roles and responsibilities required of them, issue toolbox talks as and when required and carry out inductions.

What are the requirements?

  • You must be able to demonstrate a good working practice and be able to make decisions accordingly.
  • Working with and managing a team, you must preferably have previous street cleansing, recycling and waste management experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
  • Experience of working within a busy logistics operation involving fleet compliance is also desirable.
  • You must have or be able to achieve within a 12 month period COTC in transfer and treatment of Hazardous waste and also a CPC in national road haulage will be required.
  • You will require a driving licence, good IT skills and previous experience with Microsoft packages.
  • A HGV licence would be desirable, but is not essential.
