Job description:
Our client a growing manufacturer is looking for Materials Planner/ Buyer to join their busy team in Redditch.

You will be responsible for the material scheduling and procurement processes to ensure there is the material availability for customer orders whilstmanaging stock levels.

Materials Planner/ Buyer key duties include:

Plan and place material purchase orders to ensure the material flow is in line with customer demand.
Identify and implement new sourcing opportunities in conjunction with the purchasing team
Identify supply chain improvement opportunities and work with the purchasing team to implement changes such as price reduction, logistics improvements etc
Expedite orders and maintain supplier delivery performance
Actively utilise the business ERP system, SAP to manage and communicate material scheduling and buying activities by creating reports
Manage the report inventory levels in line with business targets driving improvement and reduction in inventory levels where appropriate.

The successful Materials Planner/ Buyer will need the have the following skills and experience:

Material purchasing and planning with high levels of competency in ERP/ MRP management

Supplier negotiations including pricing and delivery terms agreement
SAP and high level of excel - You will be reporting on excel
Good basic engineering understanding
