Jackson Hogg is supporting a fantastic company who is looking for an experienced Payroll officer on a fixed term basis to work alongside the Payroll Manager.


Responsibilities will include:
Assisting the administration of payroll duties including but not limited to:

  • Payroll processing & review
  • all aspects of payroll including starters, leavers, changes, maternity, sickness.
  • Reviewing exceptions report
  • Production of pre update reports including BACS payments file.
  • Reconciliation of BACS file
  • Obtain authority to pay.
  • Transfer of Bacs for payment from Pt-X software
  • Update Payroll in Accord
  • Production of Post Update Reports
  • Balance pre & post update reports
  • To run RTI routines including:
  • Review RTI journal, edit if required.
  • Run Full Payment Submission


  • Run P3

  • Run Employer Payment Submission
  • Run validation check.
  • Upload payroll journal for import to GL
  • Produce Management Reports
  • To administer Pension schemes including
  • Export pension files from Accord
  • Reconcile and upload into Websites.
  • Manage Pension websites including opt outs and refunds.
  • To produce Payroll Liabilities reports
  • To carry out any other reasonable task as requested by the Payroll Manager

Person Specification:


Knowledge

  • Thorough knowledge of computerised and paper payroll systems from input stage to RTI completion.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation relating to Tax, PAY, and statutory payments
  • Knowledge of Occupational Pension schemes and Auto Enrolment regulations

Skills/abilities

  • Ability to work on own initiative within a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manually calculate payroll cost
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters discreetly.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Experience

  • Experience in a generalist payroll environment providing guidance to staff
  • Experience of running payrolls from input to RTI stage including generating management reports.

Package:


  • Fixed term contract for 6 months and likely to be extended to September 202
  • Salary: £30,000 £39,000 DOE
  • Hours: 34 per week (will increase in busier periods)
  • Holiday: 25 + BH
  • Hybrid: 2 days office 3 days home (once training is completed)
  • Free city centre parking

£30,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
