Job summary:
The newly created Department for Business and Trade (DBT) brings together the business focused functions of the former Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Department for International Trade (DIT).
Our joint expertise in trade and business provides us with a unique opportunity to unleash the power of UK businesses, reform regulation to reduce burdens and unlock post-Brexit freedoms.
This post will sit within the the Records and Knowledge strand of the DBT Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) team.
Job description:
The Knowledge Management Support will:
- Support the promotion of good knowledge and information management in teams across the Department
- Maintain logs of information, usage and access and producing reports as required
- Work closely with colleagues in our Digital Data and Technology (DDAT) Team to support knowledge management on corporate systems
- Support records management projects
- Work with the wider team to support the work and objectives of the KIM department
- KM support to Public Inquires
Hybrid Working
Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.
Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.
Most DIT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average.
DIT will cover travel costs/expenses to any office which is not your usual office location in line with departmental expenses policy.
Person specification:
Essential Criteria
- Interested in the KIM profession.
- Customer service or previous KIM experience.

- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to be proactive and selfmotivated.
- Good attention to detail.
