We're delighted to be working exclusively with a primary school in South Tyneside to appoint a permanent Finance and Administration Officer.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a warm and welcoming team in the planning, development and monitoring offinancial support services.

The Finance and Administration Officer will work on a term time only basis (+5 days) to co-ordinate budgets, manage administrative procedures and lead on school procurement.


Finance responsibilities:

  • Plan, monitor and evaluate budgets, producing 3 year and 5 year estimated forecasts.
  • Prepare and produce end of year finance reports.
  • Manage financial administration procedures including the recording of all cash handling activities and the collection of debt associated with these.
  • Manage and monitor expenditure within an agreed budget.
  • Manage school's private fund account producing monthly return/annual returns.

Administration responsibilities:

  • Present information at designated meetings.
  • Respond to correspondence as appropriate.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of school administrative and finance procedures.
  • Manage financial administrative procedures, policies and protocols.
  • Coordinate the review of whole school policies.

Procurement responsibilities:

  • Lead on procurement and seek Best Value.
  • Monitor and manage all Service Level Agreements.

FTE salary:
£29,438

Pro rata (term time + 5 days): £25,589
