Background

Sidmouth Golf Club is based on Peak Hill on the west side of the Sid Valley approximately one mile from the town centre.

The Club has 560 members in total including 60 social members.

The golf course, with wonderful views of Lyme Bayfrom several fairways, offers the perfect challenge for the golfing novice as well as providing a test for the most accomplished golfer.

Founded in 1889 and designed by J.H.Taylor, it makes the most of the natural contours of the wooded slopes of the Sid Valley.

Each hole provides its own challenge, undulating fairways and subtle borrows add to this demanding yet delightful test of golf.

The club lounge offers panoramic views of the Jurassic coastline and is currently being refurbished to a high specification.

Club members enjoy a full range of activities including social games, roll-ups, competitions, inter-club fixtures and social events.

The Club has an enviable reputation as a friendly club providing an excellent catering service, a well stocked bar, and a very warm welcome.
