Investment Director - PE Funds & Co-Investment

Business Area: Private Markets, Place of Work: London, Contract Type: Permanent.

About the role

This role will provide a great opportunity to lead the underwriting, monitoring and management of indirect Private Equity investments (funds and co-investments), plus the coordination and oversight of the approach to indirect investments across PMG.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead PE co-investment and PE fund underwritings directly, and have direct responsibility for a number of key GP/sponsor relationships.
Participate in the portfolio management by proactively recommending solutions and suggesting changes to the portfolio construction.
Represent USS on limited partner advisory boards as well as within industry, including attendance and presenting at conferences.
Proactively participate in operational aspects of the PMG, suggesting and implementing efficiencies or changes in process, procedures or structure where necessary.
Assist the Head of PE in managing the mandate's operations, including scheduling meetings and communicating outcomes.
Provide line management to individual Analysts and mentoring support to Associates and Analysts.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Extensive experience of private equity funds as a principal, with experience in investing in funds & co-investments; or experience in private equity secondary investing.
Strong knowledge of and relationships in the private equity community.
A thorough understanding of partnership agreements and financial modelling skills.
A degree in finance related subject from a top-tier university, or a post graduate qualification, either CFA or an MBA.
Ability to manage teams to deliver high quality work under constrained timelines and competent prioritisation.
