    Our team is a blend of passionate staff and volunteers who champion diversity, inclusivity, and understanding. We hail from diverse walks of life, forming a vibrant community of change-makers. Our ultimate goal? To amplify awareness of LGBTQ+ matters and advocate for the rights that ensure equal lives for all.

    With a diverse and dedicated year-round team of around 150 volunteers, we orchestrate Pride in London, the incredible event that unites us all. Your unique voice can contribute to the symphony.

    Your Role

    We are looking for a skilled and creative Communications professional with a passion for crafting compelling narratives and driving impactful messaging to join the Communications team as Deputy Director of Communications. In this active operational position, you will play a pivotal role in helping to shape our communications strategies under the direction of the Director of Communications.

    You'll be enthusiastic about effectively conveying ideas, building relationships, and engaging diverse audiences, working with our owned and earned channel heads, alongside press, stakeholders, sponsors, and joining forces with volunteers from around Pride in London to skillfully tell our story to the world. You will be a self-starter with the professional experience to bring the best out of your team and your work.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Lead, motivate, and develop the Communications team, third-parties, and agencies.
    • Plan and execute communications strategy to elevate brand awareness and reputation.
    • Collaborate with different teams to gather insights for effective campaigns.
    • Engage press and stakeholders to convey Pride in London's narrative, values, and mission.
    • Assist in stakeholder interactions, especially during crisis and issues management.
    • Cultivate and sustain relationships with media outlets, stakeholders, and partners.
    • Oversee and evaluate communication endeavors, delivering reports and recommendations.
    • Ensure all Communications channels and areas are fully resourced and operating effectively.
    • Support the Director of Communications with press and media engagement.

    Role Details:

    This is a volunteer Leadership Team Role, reporting to the Director of Communications. A 4 - 6 hours per week commitment increasing during the delivery of the event.
