Salary:
Grade 6 (£28,762 - £34,308 p.a. depending on experience)


This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.

We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.


Are you an exceptional and engaging media relations or news professional, with a proven track record of delivering effective communications activity,
aligned to a clear strategy?
Can you develop and deliver comprehensive communications plans that enhance and protect reputation? Can you write imaginative, compelling copy for a range of audiences?

We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated communications practitioner to help build and protect the reputation of the University of Leeds' among a range of audiences including international, national and sector media outlets, research funders, higher education institutions, policy makers and partners, and potential partners across the globe.


Working as part of our Corporate Communications team, you will play a key role in delivering the University's advocacy and engagement strategy: promoting our education, research, digital innovation and partnerships internationally, and building our reputation as a University tackling global inequalities and creating a fairer future for all.


This appointment comes at a particularly exciting time for the University as it begins delivering a 10-year strategy
Universal Values, Global Change, which centres on three key themes - culture, community and impact, all with a focus on driving down inequalities and creating the next generation of global citizens.


The Communications and Engagement department is responsible for developing the University's global profile, projecting its voice and creating communications and engagement opportunities for our diverse community of 9,200 staff and more than 39,000 students.


A confident and creative communicator, you will excel in writing accurate, accessible content, and will work across a range of channels to increase the impact and profile of the University.

You will be comfortable collaborating with colleagues across the Communications and Engagement department in a matrix working format.


Team members are expected to participate in the out-of-hours rota for media relations and there will be an occasional requirement to work outside normal office hours.
