Role Overview:

As the Payroll Technical Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely, efficient, and effective delivery of payroll services.

You will be responsible for managing various payroll processes, including data file transmissions, pension reporting, year-end processes, and distribution of employee information.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the timely execution of monthly payroll running and validation reports.
  • Manage BACS file transmission to the Financial Transactions Service.
  • Oversee RTI submissions, including FPS and EPS file submissions.
  • Coordinate payroll file transfers for general ledger submission.
  • Handle other postpayroll processes efficiently.

Requirements:


  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, preferably within a local authority setting.
  • Proficiency in managing payroll processes such as LGPS I-Connect, LPFA employer portal, Teachers' Pensions MDC/MCR, NHSPS electronic staff records, etc.
  • Strong understanding of yearend and startofyear payroll processes.
  • Ability to manage and implement supplementary payrolls, pay awards, pay increments, etc.
  • Familiarity with HMRC requirements and pension autoenrollment regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
