Your role will operate within Marketing, aligned to the investments part of the business.

abrdn Investments provides a broad range of investment products and solutions to suit clients' needs, now and in the future.

We market our investment products through two core client channels:

  • Wholesale: Financial Advisers, Wealth Managers, Discretionary Fund Managers and Global Banks
  • Institutional: Pension Funds, Family Offices, Charities and Endowments, Insurance and Soveriegn Wealth Funds
About the role


The Investment Capability Marketing team sits within the Investments Marketing function and is accountable for the distinctive articulation and positioning of our key investment capabilities globally.

The Investment Capability team is responsible for setting the marketing strategy that builds awareness, deepens familiarity and drives consideration for our core Investment capabilities (e.g. Sustainability, Real Assets, Fixed Income, Equities etc.) Working closely with Heads of Investment Desks and Investment specialists the role holder will support the marketing capability lead in developing and agreeing positioning, building core messaging frameworks and activation plans that drive target audience engagement.

There will be a sustained focus on telling a distinctive and compelling story at a capability level and then how this feeds down to specific product promotional collateral.


The Marketing Executive will be responsible for supporting key Investment business initiatives as well as ensuring core collateral and content for are fit for purpose.

The role-holder will be expected to drive efficiency and excellence in delivery, making sure all outputs are delivered to scope, time and budget.

The role-holder will need to build effective relationships across the vector, including marketing, product and investment teams. The ability to engage and influence these stakeholders through clear and articulate communication will be essential.

They will input into the modern marketing agenda for the function, helping develop multi-media content that resonates such as videos, podcasts and social activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Marketing Manager Alternatives development of content
  • Clearly articulate content plans to secure resources and commitment across key stakeholders
  • Help manage relationships workflow across writers, editors and compliance
  • Input into creative content production to improve engagement with target audience
  • Input into bottom up content planning to define deliverables and resource requirements
  • Ensure core collateral and content are fit for purpose based on a robust understanding of the vector growth requirements
  • Basic provision of content in line with focus capabilities and focus funds
  • Use insight through a range of different sources to make decisions eg quantitative and qualitative insight, data and analytics, media coverage, insight from Investment and Product colleagues
  • Use knowledge of market trends, audience and competitor landscape to make decisions
  • Support the delivery of initiatives to time, scope and budget
  • Adopt standards and processes and embed best practice within campaigns and activities
  • Develop clearly articulated briefs to initiate activity
  • Traffic manage assets through production processes to ensure delivery to time and scope
  • Working with the Digital Marketing colleagues to support delivery of integrated digital elements.
  • Monitor compliance sign off dates to ensure all required literature remains up to date and live
  • Identify opportunities to improve marketing processes across the Investment Capability Marketing Team
  • Identify process improvement areas to improve efficiency or effectiveness
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to complete process analysis and recommendations for change
  • Adopt core operational processes & risk controls ensuring all relevant training is completed
  • Identify learning and development opportunities and seek to adopt Marketing best practice
Skills and Experience- A marketing professional with early stage experience working as part of a channel or content marketing team- Experience in the delivery of marketing campaigns- Able to engage and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders- Experience of working as part of a cross functional project team to deliver a common goal- Familiarity with client decision making processes across channels- Familiarity with an investment / financial services product rang
