Advanced CNC Operator - The role:

As an Advanced CNC Operator, you will be responsible for producing components to drawing tolerances and within the quality specification.


This is an important role, as you will be responsible for producing work to a high-quality controlled standard within the various industries Thompson Valves operates.


As our Advanced CNC Operator, you will:

  • Read engineering drawings.
  • Select the correct inspection equipment for manufacture.
  • Manufacture to correct drawing specifications.
  • Select the correct tooling and holding devices for manufacture.
  • Carry out own 1st off inspection.
  • Check and complete the necessary quality documentation.
  • Ensure tooling and gauging are maintained to a high quality.
  • Change inserts and machine offsets.
  • Continually apply/maintain 5s and lean principles.
  • Complete feedback tickets of set and run times.
  • Maintain production targets.
  • Complete OEE data.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous demonstrable experience of running machine tools;
  • High level of attention detail;
  • Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner;
  • Some knowledge of systems and software;
  • Ability to perform at a high standard under normal working conditions;
  • Ability to demonstrate a desire to progress and succeed;
  • Able to work as a team and independently.
