DEPUTY HEAD OF SCHOOL, Resources and Planning

GRADE 10

3x1FTE


We are embarking on a new phase in our development, to transform the University into an organisation that knows its purpose, understands its priorities, accepts its own parameters, and works together for the common and greater good.

The new post of Deputy Head of School, one for each of our newly configured schools, will be instrumental in supporting this transformation and ensuring a consistently excellent experience for staff and students.


In this post, you will provide leadership and operational management of the school, focused on ensuring a collaborative approach across the school to achieve the ambitions of the school and the University's Strategic Plan.

You will be instrumental in ensuring alignment of strategic activity, with an overarching view of the school's portfolio and performance targets, and directing resources to priority activities, both in the short and long term.

You will have a critical role to play in ensuring that the school workforce is fit to meet future needs and delivery approaches, with high levels of staff engagement and determination to succeed.

Working with the Head of School, you will have a key responsibility for overseeing budgets and ensuring business objectives are met.


To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate exemplary leadership capability, with a track record of achieving high levels of engagement both by staff and students, encouraging and enabling innovative practice, with a focus on continuous improvement and strategic development.

You will be an experienced operational manager, able to work proactively within resource limits, to deliver a consistently high-quality learning and delivery environment for staff and students.

You will have strong analytical reasoning skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of data sources, able to identify systemic issues that may be holding back progress, and to work with others to identify and implement solutions.

You will be committed to achieving real impact and have a clear determination to work proactively to achieve our ambitions.

The interviews for these posts will take place on 21st
and 22nd
June.
The format for the selection process will be a formal panel interview, which will include a 7-minute (maximum) presentation on:
