Role Snapshotthis is an exciting opportunity to continue and develop our innovative pilot service and deliver first-line support to business enquiries for information and advice in the Councils' new Business Regulatory Support Hub service.


Using your experience and initiative and using your excellent communication skills, you will deliver a first-class advice service to our existing local businesses and prospective new business start-ups to deliver the maximum support, in terms of advice andsupport requirements, to help them succeed and prosper.


You will work to identify and promote value-added services to businesses, at the right time when start-ups or existing enterprises could gain the most benefit from our bespoke support.


Working closely with specialist officers in the Regulatory Service and Economic Development Team, you'll design and enhance the provision of information and advice packages, signposting to business compliance support and grants, and improve our self-helpsupport materials, including content on the Councils' joint website.

You will be working closely with great teams of committed and passionate fellow professionals.


As the Hub Coordinator, you will be empowered to both make day-to-day decisions and manage your own work with support on-hand from managers and colleagues.


You will be based at Carrowbreck House, to support the day to day running of the Carrowbreck House training facility, including locking/unlocking of the building, as well as ensuring the hospitality for room hire and training courses is efficient and organised.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading on the design and delivery of an enhanced and integrated package of advice and support to businesses.
  • Working collaboratively with frontline operational teams and being that interface to businesses for the promotion of services that our teams are able to provide.
  • Participating in business engagement events and regulatory campaigns.
  • Developing contacts outside of Regulatory Services and Economic Development to deliver maximum support to help businesses succeed and prosper.
  • Maximising the use of the Councils' communication channels to provide current and relevant information to businesses.
  • Gathering business intelligence to inform the design and delivery of support activities and assist with the evaluation of the effectiveness of the pilot project.
  • Identifying and promoting commercialisation services to businesses, at the right time when startups or existing enterprises could gain the most benefit from our bespoke support.

You must have

Essential Criteria
Experience of successfully delivering and evaluating the effectiveness of projects

Hold a relevant qualification or have relevant experience in a role related to supporting development of business and/or providing a wide range of advice to enhance new or established businesses

Working knowledge and understanding of current services provided to businesses in the area by the councils and other agencies/organisations.

Experience of developing projects and working collaboratively across services and with external agencies

Ability to work collaboratively with other departments across the Councils


Essential Skills
Project management experience

Understanding of current services provided to businesses in the area, both by the Councils and other agencies/organisations

Demonstrable experience of problem solving

Well-honed skills in providing support and advice to the businesses.

Excellent people skills and be an affective verbal and written communicator.

Have the ability and be confident to work in sometimes challenging environments.
