About The Role:
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, friendly and supportive individual to join our Finance team in Syston as an apprentice.
As part of your role you will be afforded 1 day a week study leave (paid) and the opportunity to study for your AAT qualification.
The role will assist in the financial processing of several elements of Compass Community finances, related to our Fostering and Children's Homes services and support the wider finance function with various admin tasks as required.
Main Duties
- Sales invoice processing:
- Raising of accurate monthly invoicing to Local Authorities
- Correction of billing errors as advised Liaising with Local authorities to ensure that all necessary information is in place to ensure invoices will be paid in a timely manner (Purchase Orders, References etc)
- Accounts Payable processing including;
- Processing supplier invoices in the correct group company
- Ensuring accurate ledger coding,
- Ensuring invoices are authorised & paid in accordance with group policies, Ensuring regular supplier statement reconciliations are performed and supplier queries are dealt with efficiently.
- Expenses and Credit Card return processing including;
- Processing expense claims and credit card returns in the correct group company,
- Ensuring accurate ledger coding,
- Ensuring credit card reconciliations are performed and administration of cards as required, End user support with completion of expense claims and credit card returns using SAP Concur.
- Other Finance administrative tasks as required to support the wider team and other adhoc duties as required, including but not limited to:
- Bank Reconciliations
- Weekly / Monthly petty cash request processing
Experience and Abilities:
The role does not require previous experience of working within a finance team environment or similar role however any previous experience will be considered.
GCSE passes in English and Maths (to the equivalent of grade C or higher)
Minimum 2 A-Level passes (or predicted grades) at grade C or higher
Individuals that will be considered for role must be organised and be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and have a keen eye for detail.
You should be able to work as part of a team, with enthusiasm for learning new skills and processes whilst also using your initiative and raising any concerns or issues when required.
