Job description

Premier Activity Apprentice


To be a role model that will inspire and empower people to lead a healthy and physically active lifestyle, through creating and delivering physical activity sessions and lessons that are engaging and promote learning through movement.

This job with Premier Education would be suitable for anyone looking to build a career in coaching young people, though sport coaching or other wellbeing activity coaching roles.


Main Duties;

  • Coaching a range of extracurricular activities before school, lunch times and after school.
  • Working alongside head coaches at Holiday Camps during half terms.
  • Supporting/assisting curriculum PE and fitness programmes delivered by Senior Coaches
  • Attending apprenticeship masterclasses with a Train With Premier Tutor
  • Completing coursework to submit to Train With Premier Tutor for marking.

1. Excellent knowledge and hold qualifications of sports coaching, which will include;

  • Level 4 School Sports Coach Apprenticeship Standard
  • Leading Inclusive Physical Activity in Primary Schools Level
  • National Governing Body Qualifications & Sport Activators
  • Child Protection & First Aid Certificate
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Experience and knowledge of working with children & young people.
  • Competent in literacy & numeracy to a level 2 standard

2. Competency to perform at consistently high standards in a school environment;

  • Be able to plan a range of innovative coaching sessions and programs
  • Set up & deliver high quality sports coaching sessions to children and young people
  • Develop and inspire young people to live and lead active lifestyles.
  • Be able to produce accurate assessments and reports on children and young people's progress
  • Knowledge of the school PE National Curriculum

Benefits / Salary / Hours;

  • Salaried 30 hours per week
  • Contracted 52 weeks per year

  • NVQ level 3 & 4 apprenticeships available depending on prior experience. Includes multiple qualifications within I.E Gymnastics, Tennis and many others depending on interests

Desired Prior Knowledge and Qualifications in sports coaching, which may include;

  • Safeguarding Course
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
(mandatory)

  • Experience and knowledge of working with children & young people
Reliable with strong time management
