Description
The King's CE School wishes to appoint a strong, full-time Administrative Officer to offer support to the Curriculum Team.

Under the guidance of the Data Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking administrative, financial and organisational processes within the school, and to assist with the planning and development of support services.

The King's has recently been judged 'Good' in all six inspection areas. The report states that 'staff go the extra mile'.

The King's is also in the process of joining the Three Spires Trust, further strengthening the ways in which we work with other schools in the city and diocese.


Support to Students, Parents and the Community

  • Deal with complex reception/visitor etc. matters and provide reception cover as required.
  • Distribute parental/carer correspondence via school communication software.
  • May assist and organise school trips/events etc.
  • May be required to manage uniform/snack/other 'shops' within the school.
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff, students and others.

Support to Other Staff

  • Contribute to the planning, development and organisation of support service systems/procedures/policies.
  • Supervise, train and develop staff as appropriate.
  • May involve line management responsibility for one other member of staff.
  • Provide personal, administrative and organisational support to other staff.
  • Ensure the integrity of all data held in the school.
  • Ensure data is input in a consistent and accurate manner onto all data systems.
  • Assist with the analysis of data produced, and produce reports and documentation for the Senior Leadership Team or other stakeholders as required.
  • Provide data and produce reports in a timely manner to meet internal and externally set deadlines.
  • Produce regular reports to meet statutory requirements and deadlines.
  • Ensure student reporting system is operated effectively and student reports delivered on time.
  • Administer detentions through MIS, including moving detentions, communicating with both staff and parents/carers.
  • Take responsibility for reprographic equipment and software to ensure the equipment remains in working order.
  • Ensure all reprographics equipment is appropriately stocked each day.
  • Carry out photocopying for the staff as required, including printing resources for cover lessons.
  • Liaise with supply staff to ensure they have necessary resources for lessons.
  • Monitor school communications software regularly to ensure parental questions are dealt with.
  • Print, collate, bind, laminate and/or staple as required for whole school and departmental publications, including internal examinations.

Support Student Admissions and Curriculum

  • To work with senior staff to manage and administer admissions into year 7 and year 1
  • To work with senior staff to manage and administer in year admissions transfers.
  • To organise and deliver effective administrative support for post 16 students within the school.
  • To work with the senior staff to manage and organise the work experience arrangements and careers opportunities for all students as required.
  • Liaise with parents/carers to obtain information as necessary.

Operational Responsibilities

  • To support and uphold academy policies.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you come into contact with.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Be aware of, support and ensure equal opportunities for all.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the academy.
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
  • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
  • Assist with student needs as appropriate during the academy day.
