UNISON is the leading public services union.

We support members in work, negotiate and campaign for better pay and terms and conditions of employment, promote equality and diversity and recruit and organise members across public services.

The Education and Children's services section deals with staff working across the education sector, including early years, schools, colleges, universities, and associated employers.

Assistant National Officers (ANOs) support National Officers to develop campaigns.

Their work includes writing reports; providing research (including drafting and analysing surveys); producing materials; giving advice and guidance; organising training courses, meetings, and other events; and supporting the democratic structures of the union.

These activities are linked to the recruitment and organisation of members and representatives. ANOs also ensure the smooth running of committees and forums by preparing reports, briefings, agendas, and minutes.
