A little bit about what we are looking for...

We are looking for a new Estate Services Contracts officer to join the team on a fixed term contract running up to 1st October 2023.

Your role will ensure the organisations estate service functions are delivered in a professional, efficient and customer focused way. This includes grounds maintenance, cleaning and estate management.


We are happy to offer hybrid working with this role; You will be required to be in the office for around 2/3 days per week with the rest being from home, however please bear in mind we may need you to be in the office more within your probation and training.

It's important to us that you feel fully ready and confident in the role before working from home. Of course if you'd prefer to be in the office more, then that is completely fine with us too


Your responsibilities...

  • Provide an efficient and effective customer focused estate management service to the properties nationwide
  • Monitor contractor performance on estate management and to ensure the standards and terms of the contract are being adhered to
  • Fully investigate and respond to all complaints, CRMs and expressions of dissatisfaction about service delivery, ensuring appropriate steps are taken to correct
- any failings. To learn from complaints and improve services from lessons learnt

  • Resolve day to day problems and identify and monitor on going issues to ensure that we are proactive in resolving difficult problems. This will involve trouble shooting and making on the spot decisions
  • Sign post customers to appropriate agencies and services for support when required
  • Working with the Estates Services Contracts Manager to ensure the implementation and management of estate action plans, local estate or block agreements or any new participation / development initiatives
  • Complete/action any customer relations management case outcomes
  • Provide clear and precise information to Housing Services colleagues on the day to day performance of the Contractors
  • Where appropriate hold to account the contractors as part of the relevant Contract Management
  • Manage all aspects of the day to day management of the grounds maintenance, playground management, cleaning service, tree management, bulk refuse collection and caretaking services for properties in the Midlands and London

  • Experience within a customer service environment working for a Housing Association or other public service organisation, in a capacity which involved facetoface interaction with customers
  • National Certificate in Horticulture or NVQ Level 3 equivalent or other relevant horticultural qualification
  • Knowledge of theory and principles of Landscape maintenance
  • Knowledge of ground maintenance, cleaning and tree management
  • Practical experience of using Landlord and Tenant legislation
  • Experience of contract management
