Accounts Assistant
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our supportive and friendly Management Accounts team on a permanent basis.
We are keen to develop someone who is looking for their first role in an accounts department, if you have good analytical and IT skills as well as an eagerness to learn and able to adapt to change, this could be a perfect role for you.
This role will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger function to assist in the preparation of the month end Group Management Accounts.
Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger
- Inputting invoices into the system for processing and approval by budget holders
- Responsible for the creation of a weekly payment run for review. Once reviewed, setting up payments ready for authorisation on the bank and sending remittance advices to all suppliers
- Assist in the resolution of queries and complaints from suppliers and budget holders.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any outstanding issues
- Completing balance sheet recs for purchase ledger on a monthly basis
- Ensuring that recoverable VAT that is due to Gattaca is identified and appropriately coded.
- Setting up new vendor accounts and ensuring that the companies' policies are followed including checking bank details directly with the supplier and ensuring VAT set up is correct.
Sales Invoices
- Responsible for the weekly upload of sales invoices from RSM into our finance system
Recharges
- Responsible for identifying purchase ledger invoices that need recharging to a client for costs relating to a contractor.
- Liaising with sales consultants to get completed recharge forms so payroll solutions are able to raise the invoices to the client.
- Sending the completed forms to payroll solutions so that they can raise the invoice.
Sales Ledger Refunds
- Responsible for confirming bank details with customers to enable the management accounts team to process the refund.
