Description

A very exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for the position of Senior Clinical Lead and Supervisor for Sunderland Psychological Wellbeing Service (Talking Therapies).


Key functions within the role include working very closely with the senior leadership team to provide clinical leadership and contribute to the development of the talking therapies service as part of an integrated provision delivered in partnership with the Community & Voluntary Sector.


To provide highly specialist psychological clinical supervision to trainee and qualified IAPT High and Low Intensity Therapists and non IAPT clinicians.

To ensure all clinical staff are in receipt of regular clinical supervision from a suitably qualified practitioner.

To provide clinical input by carrying a small clinical caseload.


To clinically lead the delivery and provision of a highly specialist psychological service to Service Users in the Sunderland service, providing highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy and clinical risk management.


To advise and provide consultation to non-psychological therapist colleagues and to other non-professional carers on psychological aspects of care, with responsibility to specialise in a particular client sub-group as appropriate.


To support the development of relevant pathways within and out with the service including therapy pathways for those patients with mental health problems and co morbid specific long term physical health conditions.

To provide in-house training on identified topics and contribute to the evaluation of training initiatives.


To support the service in its performance responsibilities, clinical governance strategies, research and audit projects to continuously improve clinical effectiveness.


To attend and represent the service at locality focused, trust wide, regional and national IAPT networking meetings in the absence of the Principle Clinical Lead and Specialist Supervisor.
