We are looking to recruit an experienced Enquiry Services Librarian to join AECOM Library and Information Services (ALIS), based in the UK.

This is a varied role as the post holder will play a key role in delivering a high-quality enquiry service, while also managing day-to-day library operations including responsibility for a tender notices service and a range of library administrative functions.

Key duties:


Enquiry services
- day to day management of the ALIS enquiry service, working with the ALIS team to deliver a high-quality user-focused service to the business
- working with the Head of ALIS to develop and maintain customer service policies and quality procedures to enhance service delivery
- coordinate and streamline enquiry services, ensuring efficient handling of requests
- prepare and circulate the monthly inbox rota
- maintain and develop in conjunction with the team existing ALIS enquiry guidelines and draft responses, used to ensure consistent responses to queries
- deliver excellent customer service through regular ALIS enquiry rota slots
- working with the Access Librarian to compile, monitor, and evaluate statistics across the service, producing evidence-based reports on performance and trends
- develop the enquiry service to meet the demands of our global business.


Operations
- responsible for the management and development of the tender notifications service to support work winning.
- management of ALIS mailing lists for communications and notifications
- management of the loans and interlibrary loans service
- optimisation of ALIS processes and procedures, identifying and efficiency improvements in how ALIS does business.


General
- contribute to the development and delivery of ALIS strategy
- undertake other duties in support of the work of ALIS as may be required by the Head of Library and Information Services, Europe.
- experience of developing and delivering a high-quality customer-focused enquiry services.

Person specification:

- educated to a degree-level, in an information or library specialist area, or possessing equivalent experience
- previous experience working in an operational role, ideally in a business or commercial environment enthusiastic, highly motivated, flexible and able to exercise appropriate initiative.
