Do you have what it takes?

THE GIG
It is an exciting time for Dr. Martens as we continue a journey of significant growth, expansion, and improvement. The DM Technology team is at the core of this - transforming technology into a key business enabler.

We are looking for a Scrum Master for our Finance teams to fulfil a newly created role in our global product and agile organisation.

You are passionate about delivery, enjoy facilitating teams and understand how to get the best out of people in a fast-growing environment.

As our Scum Master for Digital, you will be responsible for:

  • Facilitate Agile sprint ceremonies as appropriate, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives and backlog refinement
  • Work with the Product Owner to manage the backlog and new requests.
  • Help build a productive environment where team members 'own' the product and enjoy working on it.
  • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
  • Drive team members to anticipate and resolve potential blockers (e.g., resource constraints), and ensure impediments and blockers are removed or escalated as needed.
  • Devise creative and viable solutions to complex challenges facing Product teams, including impediments and inefficiencies with ambiguous causes (e.g., identifying causes of perpetual delays).
  • Proactively and effectively communicate, persuade, influence, and negotiate on behalf of teams in dealing with stakeholders to address interdependencies and impediments.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and best practices to progress the work of the teams.
  • Live agile culture and values and spread your passion for them among other teams.
  • Engage and partner with Agile Coaches and Agile Portfolio Office (APO) to help identify and deliver against Agile training needs.
  • Contribute to the Scrum Master community with thought leadership and constructive feedback to support Technology's Agile maturity.
  • Develop relationships of trust with team members, the Product Owner, and other key stakeholders (e.g., Domain Leadership and Technology Heads) to advance the Product team's work.

OUR FUNDAMENTAL QUALITIES
It's never just a job at Dr. Martens. It's a way of life.

We live and breathe our Fundamentals:
INTEGRITY. PROFESSIONAL. PASSIONATE. TEAM PLAYERS.

We're a diverse bunch who believe each role is as unique as the person who does it.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we're looking for are:

  • An agile role model: you work collaboratively, you show courage, you take responsibility, you have confidence, you speak out, you are creative, and you simplify.
  • An excellent communicator, negotiator and peopleperson. You will need to balance the necessary demands of 'run, grow, transform, and supports and the requisite needed to move the business forwards in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Able to take an innovative approach to problemsolving.
  • A good multitasker, open to ideas and use feedback to improve approach and outcomes.
  • Experience of using Jira and Confluence systems.
  • Proven, prior experience as a Scrum Master or Delivery Manager for longlived value streams and Products.
  • Successful track record delivering enterprise technology solutions and automating technology processes and workflows.
  • We strive to develop a business where our people can thrive and feel empowered to express themselves. Because we believe everyone should feel supported and included whatever their role in the Dr. Martens community._
